Vanessa comes with a strong background of 16 years in aged care. She has worked extensively in nursing homes, aged hostels and community settings in the development and implementation of innovative leisure programs. Vanessa has been actively involved in the Diversional Therapy Association both at a State and National level. She has also been active in numerous working parties for education, marketing and strategic planning and was a key driver in the publication of the Australasian Journal of Diversional Therapy.
Vanessa also works in her own business providing specialist diversional therapy advice to the aged care and health industries.
Vanessa has a specific interest in the therapeutic uses of poetry with the elderly, and the role of the diversional therapist with palliative care residents in aged care facilities.
