Accredited Short Courses

In response to the demand for diversional therapy specific education, we are now offering a number of short courses by print based distance mode of delivery. Short courses on offer include:
  • Introduction to Diversional Therapy Practice ~ $405.00 per student
    • Fundamentals of Diversional Therapy
    • Language and Arts Based Recreation
  • Leisure and Recreation Programming ~ $495.00 per student
    • Introduction to Programming
    • Advanced Programming and Documentation
  • Programming for Older People ~ $360.00 per student
    • Leisure and Older People
    • Providing Leisure Services for Clients with Dementia
  • Managing for Better Practice ~ $450.00 per student
    • Continuous Improvement and Quality Management
    • Managing People and Resources
Each short course consists of two modules from our Diploma of Diversional Therapy and completion of each short course leads to a 'Statement of Attainment'. Upon enrolment in a short course each student will receive:
  1. Activity based learning packages and assessment materials for each of the modules within the short course for each student enrolled.
  2. A student handbook and a 'Referencing and Writing Style Guide' to each student
  3. Access to a course co-ordinator who is available to provide study support via phone and email.
  4. Access to the student forum and online chat facilities via the Redleaf College website. This forum enables students to link to fellow students and gain study and professional support.
  5. Each student will receive a quarterly 'Keeping in Touch.' newsletter

Individual modules

Individual modules from our Certificate IV in Health and Recreation and Diploma of Diversional Therapy courses are also available for purchase. These modules are ideal for staff who have specific training needs or as an alternative to the traditional face to face inservice. Examples of modules include:

  • Volunteer Management ($180.00 per student)
  • Leisure Services for Clients with Dementia ($180.00 per student)
  • Managing Conflict and Stress ($180.00 per student)
  • Community Development through Recreation ($180.00 per student)
  • Leisure Education ($180.00 per student)
  • Interpersonal Skills and Leadership ($180.00 per student)
  • ... or any other modules from our accredited courses.
Costs for individual modules are outlined in our full course brochure. A statement of attainment will be awarded upon successful completion of the module assessment.
