Protecting your Privacy

Redleaf College is committed to providing you with the highest levels of customer service. This includes protecting your privacy. From 21 December 2001, we are bound by new sections of the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, which set out a number of principles concerning the protection of your personal information. Following is the information that the Privacy Act requires us to communicate to all our clients/students.

Personal information held by Redleaf College may include your name, date of birth, current address, telephone numbers, fax numbers, email address, emergency contact details, languages spoken, employment details, cultural background, citizenship, disability, schooling, prior achievements, your previous education and training and relevant workplace and life experience.

Your personal information may be used in order to:

  • provide the services your require
  • administer those services, including charging, invoicing, and collecting debts
  • research, develop and improve our services
  • gain an understanding of your communication, education, and training needs in order for us to provide you with a better service
  • maintain and develop our business systems
  • provide the Commonwealth Government with information it requires us to collect about all our students.

Your contact details may be used to inform you of other courses/services that may be of interest to you. If you do not wish us to contact you regarding other services please call (02) 9924 0506.

For the purposes set out above we may disclose your personal information to organisations outside Redleaf College of Professional Education. The organisations to which we disclose information include:

  • your representative (eg. your authorised representatives or legal advisors)
  • our professional advisors (eg. our accountants and auditors)
  • government and regulatory authorities and other organisations as required or authorised by law.

Redleaf College takes all reasonable precautions to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose, including student course progress, is accurate, complete and up-to-date. The accuracy of that information depends to a large extent on the information you provide. That is why we recommend that you let us know if there are any errors in your personal information and keep us up-to-date with changes to your personal information such as your name and address.

You have the right to access your personal information, subject to some exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. Current Redleaf College students are automatically provided, free of charge, with a full transcript of their progress twice each year. Redleaf College reserves the right to charge a fee for searching for and providing access to your information.
