Diploma of Diversional Therapy (105751)

Students will have the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the areas of client assessment, developing individual and group programmes, programme evaluation, documentation, communication and team leadership, managing people and resources and leisure education.

Modules include:

  1. Learning at a Distance and Effective Learning (combined modules, 3 credit points)
  2. Interpersonal Skills and Leadership (4 credit points)
  3. Language and Arts Based Recreation (4 credit points)
  4. Fundamentals of Diversional Therapy (5 credit points)
  5. Introduction to Human Biology (5 credit points)
  6. Introduction to Programming (5 credit points)
  7. Introduction to Psychology (6 credit points)
  8. Australian Society and Culture 1 (5 credit points)
  9. Providing Services to Clients with Complex Needs 1 (6 credit points)
  10. Diversional Therapy Workplace Experience 1 (15)
  11. Two elective modules (choose from "Elective Options")

    If students wish to exit the course after successfully completing these twelve modules they will receive the Certificate IV In Health and Recreation. To gain the Diploma of Diversional Therapy students are required to complete the following modules.

  14. Contemporary issues in Health and Human Biology (5 credit points)
  15. Providing Services to Clients with Complex Needs 11 (6 credit points)

  20. Advanced Programming and Documentation (6 credit points)
